Reduce your risk of diabetes with a healthy lifestyle

In society today it's all about convenience. We have become a lazy nation in which taking the easy and simple route is often the preferred choice. Our intake of alcohol is rising, as is the amount of obese people. A lack of exercise is preventing us from being as healthy as we can be and putting us at risk of these diseases such as diabetes. These lifestyle changes can seem drastic, but as they say, every little helps.
Research says that we could decrease our risk by up to 39% for each positive lifestyle change that can be made. Exercise and smoking are two major things we can do to reduce the risk. We all could do more exercise, and with a generation full of convenience everything, we are slowly becoming lazier. If you find it hard to make such drastic lifestyle changes, then doing things bit by bit can be easier. Instead of cutting things out completely, even the small changes can make a difference, whether it's cycling to work twice a week or cutting out 2 cigarettes a day. Every little helps.
Lack of exercises and obesity is already a known killer; with it's linked to respiratory problems and heart disease. Smoking is also already linked with cancer, a tragic killer across the world. So why not change your chances and reduce the risk of developing another life changing disease that can be potentially fatal.
So to summarise, its simple, making those small lifestyle changes for the good can make all the difference. Quitting smoking, reducing alcohol intake and upping the exercise we do will ultimately improve our health and reduce the risk of developing a range of diseases, not just diabetes.
